The Chechen Family (Argentina, 2015), won the DocsBarcelona TV3 Best Film Award, valued with 5.000€. The Jury of the festival, formed by Jordi Balló, Amaia Esparza, Anita Reher and José Sánchez Montes, recognized in the work of Martín Solá “a poetical way to hear the inside of a community and to show the identity of its people in a historical context of violence, through a strong commitment to the form.
The Room of Bones, by Marcela Zamora, a corageous look on violence in El Salvador, conquers the Amnistia International Catalunya Award and a Special Mention of the Jury for Best Film.
The Colombian documentary Patient, by Jorge Caballero, a portrait of the struggle, love and generosity of a mother, imposed on the new section Latitud DocsBarcelona sponsored by Antaviana Films.
The Catalan production, Metamorphosis, by Manuel Pérez, has been recognized twice: for the viewers with the Audience Award, and Special Mention by the jury in the LatitudDocsBarcelona section.
Soleà, els néts dels altres catalans, by Marc Hernández, Maria Llinás, Natàlia Morales and Marta Vivet has been awarded with the DOC-U award, sponsored by OVIDE, valued with 1,000€ in equipment rental.
The Docs & Teens award, awarded by the teenage audience of the secondary schools of Barcelona attending the festival, went to Joana Biarnés, una entre tots, by Oscar Moreno and Jorge Rovira.
